Working as part of a busy front office operation, this role is crucial for the everyday running of the hotel as it provides the link between all departments and is the main port of call for customers. As the first point of contact for our guests within the hotel, you will be an enthusiastic, helpful and friendly person who can provide a warm & efficient welcome to all. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Senior Receptionist and will play a key role in the efficient running of the Front Office through ensuring that the guest receives a warm welcome and an excellent, personalised and efficient service at check-in, check-out, during the visit, on the telephone and through email.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional guest service through greeting and welcoming guests on their arrival and departure to and from the hotel, promoting exceptional customer relations at all times.- Advise guests of the hotel facilities, including opening hours, service times and be fully knowledgeable of local amenities.
- Ensure the smooth daily operations of the Front Office Department, that all requested reports are completed as requested, and that all postings and other transactions are completed as standard.
- Ensure that registration cards are printed daily and are completed correctly on check-in, the information is entered in the computer, and a key card is given to each arrival.
- Issue guest’s bills, ensuring that they are correct and that payment is processed as per hotel policy
- Ensure that a complete handover is written to the oncoming shift, making sure that guest special rates and special requests are noted.
- Ensure that front office floats are accurate and correct.
- Liaise with the accommodation department on a regular basis and update them with relevant information, in particular room status and stay-on’s etc.
- Liaise with accounts department to ensure that billing is accurate and correct.
- Deal with any issues or complaints to the guests/customers satisfaction ensuring that management is informed and the issue/complaint is closed off and followed up on
- Ensure all customer enquiries and requests for bookings are dealt with promptly, courteously and efficiently
- Maximise sales through up-selling, encouraging the promotion of hotel facilities and rates
- Follow up on group bookings, packages, offers and emails and where necessary make relevant bookings
- Capture guest business cards at reception and update the client database accordingly.
- Be fully conversant and comply with health, safety, hygiene, fire and security regulations of the Hotel.
- Build on the great relationship that exists with the other departments throughout the hotel.
The ideal candidate:
Previous Hotel Receptionist experience in Front Office operations, ideally in a 4/5 star hotel.- Familiar with hotel software and reservations systems, in particular Guestline.
- A relevant 3rd level qualification in Hospitality/Hospitality Management or a similar discipline is advantageous.
- Team player with the ability to multi task and have excellent presentation skills with a fine eye for detail.
- A true people person who can deliver exceptional customer service with confidence and professionalism.
- A warm, friendly and approachable personality when dealing with fellow staff and guests.
- Ability to take the initiative and demonstrate working independently while handling multiple responsibilities and follow up on queries and enquires as part of a daily routine.
- Level headed with a proven ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with guests and colleagues.
- Fluent communication in English, both written and oral, is a requirement.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi task and prioritise tasks effectively and maintain a seamless operation in particular during busy periods.
- Be adaptable and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings & weekends as per operational requirements.
- Have full permission or hold a valid visa to work in the EU

Rate of remuneration for this role is negotiable depending on relevant experience.
